Mayor Peter B. Miguel National Age-Group Chess Championships Mindanao leg on January 8 to 10, 2016 at the Gaisano Grand Citimall, Koronadal City. "This is a big event considering that it will serve as qualifying to the national finals where slots to the Asean+Age-Group Chess Championships in Pattaya, Thailand are at stake." This was bared yesterday by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) regional director James Infiesto in an e-mail. The tournament will feature the boys and girls under-20 years old, under-18, under-16, under-14, under-12, under-10 and under-eight divisions. "The chess competition is also an official event of Koronadal'sHinugyaw Festival slated January 10," Infiesto said. Davao City players are expected to face stiff contest as best age-group woodpushers in Mindanao including those from Cagayan de Oro City, Panabo City, General Santos City.Kidapawan City and Koronadal best woodpusher and Asean age group veteran chrisus Joshua Sarchez and his twin brother will also see action.
