2014 Kadayawan Youth Rapid Chess Championship results

2014 Kadayawan Youth Rapid Chess Championship-Jimzon Trangia y topped the juniors mixed boys and girls category title of the recently-concluded event held at the Davao Wisdom Academy covered court. The Holy Cross of Davao College varsity chesser bested fellow 5.5 scorer Ben Clyde Castro (HCDC) via superior tiebreaks. Top-seeded Trangia pulled off wins over Caissa Jane Guevarra of Davao Central Colleges, Erna Liwanan and Bhing Joel Gimony of Jose Maria College, Jayson Engay of HCDC and Kenneth James Placencia (HCDC). F. Bustamante Elementary School's Jasper Pantalita , meanwhile, scored perfect six points to clinch the kiddies mixed boys and girls crown over fellow six-pointer Queen Peralta of Doña Asuncion Hizon Elementary School via tiebreaks. Peralta placed second instead while Honey Grace Buenafe of JMC was third with 5.5 points. Pantalita defeated Rodel Buenafe Jr. of San Isidro Elementary School, Princess Joy Atupan of Ramon Magsaysay Elem. School, Jose Danilo Guevarra of Davao Central College, Rhobie Shayne Benogsodan of DWA, Florence Faith Guevarra of DCC and Queenie Joy Bulicatin of Panabo National High School. Winners received cash prizes and medals in the event organized by tournament director and FNA Ronnie Tabudlong along with chief arbiter national master (NM) Prospero "Bebot" Cruz. 2014 Mayor Rody and Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte Kadayawan Age-Group Chess Championship 2014 RESULTS

2014 Mayor Rody and Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte Kadayawan Age-Group Chess Championship Sunday at the NCCC Mall Food Cove Hall. Carl Zirex Sato of Panabo City got the gold medal with four points and edge via superior tie breakClark to rule the five-round boys 20-under event. Kent Anabieza of Jose Maria College (JMC) and John Gerard Acedo of Davao City. Earl Rhay Mantilla and Allen Daven de Asis of Davao Wisdom Academy grabbed the first two spots 15-under division. Four-pointers Davao Central College's Eric Yngayo, Jr., Stella Maris Academy of Davao's Francis Javier Guimalan, Davao City's Rommer Misoles, Mintal Comprehensive National High School's Jelord Villareal and Roy Mabutol wounded up in the next four spots. Irish Yngayo of DCC got the gold over fellow 4.5 scorers Honey Grace Buenafe of JMC In girls 15-under.

Shell National Youth Active Chess Championship 2014

The Shell National Youth Active Chess Championship is borne of the belief that the Filipino youth has the capacity to muster excellence and competitiveness through a global mental sport. Since 1992, the Shell companies in the Philippines set out to engage the minds of our youth through chess tournaments open to Filipino students under 20 years old and held in strategically located sites nationwide. To date, tens of thousands of youngsters have been motivated and credit chess playing as an activity that has positively contributed to enriching their lives. The tournament is open to all non-titled chess players ages 7-20 years old. Previous Kiddies Division and Juniors Grand Finals Champions are allowed to join in their respective category if they are still within the age limit. Participants may only register in the region where their school is based. i. Schools within Luzon Region may join in the NCR, North Luzon – Tuguegarao, and South Luzon - Batangas Legs only. ii. Schools within Mindanao and Visayas Regions may join the Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro and Davao City There will be two categories: JUNIORS: 20 years old and below (born not earlier than 1994) KIDDIES: 7-14 years old (born not earlier than 2000) Participants must register using the official registration form with an attached 1x1 ID picture together with the certified true copy of their birth certificate. Download the registration form. Each leg shall accept only the first 300 qualified participants on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis, in accordance to the given deadline and allocation per division. For each category: Kiddies Division: 150 participants (mixed Boys and Girls) Juniors Division: 150 participants (mixed Boys and Girls) However, if the maximum number of players is reached even before the given deadline, registration forms shall no longer be accepted. Submit completed registration form and the corresponding fee of Php100.00 (one hundred pesos) to the official Shell Chess leg coordinators only in your area.

Requirements for you to play in the 2014 Kadayawan Age group Chess Qualifying for Batang Pinoy 2014, August 16(Saturday); @ NCCC Mall of Davao, Food Cove Function, Matina, Davao City. Please download it, and to be sign by your parent along with the medical certificate to be issue. Pls. proceed to your barangay health centers or to health Office at Magallanes st., Davao City to comply. Take note: Kadayawan Open Chess will be on August 15,(Friday), same venue. No requirement to be required.
